- RoboInst is a software distribution product designed to help
- automate the process of installing operating system
- upgrades, operating system and application patches, and
- applications (both SGI format and third party) for a
- distributed network of SGI systems. In addition, RoboInst
- can be used to perform disk configuration prior to
- installation. It is currently supported for IRIX 6.2 and
- later but will accomodate upgrades of systems from IRIX 5.3
- to later releases. RoboInst performs in-place upgrades of
- software without manual de-installation of previous
- versions, manages software compatibility issues and has an
- easy API for developers to use.
-
- Note: RoboInst can be used to install IRIX 6.2, 6.3 and 6.4
- systems provided the appropriate XFS patches are
- installed on the client systems. Refer to Chapter 3
- of these release notes for more information.
-
- Note: Packaged with your software is a separate sheet that
- contains the Software License Agreement. This
- software is provided to you solely under the terms
- and conditions of the Software License Agreement.
